We love shaving here at Lockhart’s.  It’s the one self-care experience that men get to own as their own.  

We’ve been at it for years.  Trying to develop the perfect Shave Soap.  It’s not as easy as it sounds - you can put super effective oils and exotic ingredients in your product, and then it’s not affordable.  You can try to make an affordable product, but then it’s not a good performer.  The market has had a huge gap between affordability and performance.  Until now.

We set out to develop a Shave Soap that was among the best in the industry (with super easy blade glides, highly nourishing and moisturizing, and that great post-shave feel) but using ingredients that are affordable.  And, after years of work, we finally did it!

If you’ve never used a Shave Soap before, you will be amazed how much better they are than store bought shaving creams.  They last eons longer than those crazy expensive cans and they aren’t loaded up with chemicals and unpronounceable ingredients.  If you are a Shave Soap pro, well we are confident you will find the Lockhart’s Shave Soap among the best in class in the artisan industry, but at consumer friendly pricing. 

PRO TIP:
Take a small amount of shave soap out of the jar and add it to a small shaving mug or bowl. Using a shaving brush, lather the soap for at least 30 seconds. The longer you lather the soap the thicker it will become! Continue lathering until achieving the lather desired. Or, swirl your shaving brush in the jar for 10 seconds and then lather directly on your face!

So what's in it you ask?

Stearic Acid, Coconut Oil, Distilled Water, Castor Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Shea Butter, Glycerin, Cocoa Butter, Fragrance, Buttermilk, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Hydroxide, Mango Butter, Lanolin, Avocado Oil, Vitamin E

Why do we use these ingredients:

• VITAMIN E and AVOCADO OIL: YUMMY snacks for your face because your skin is always hungry
• GLYCERIN:  draws moisture to the skin and makes your blade effortlessly
  glide over your face. We love glycerin – the work horse of a great shaving
  soap.
  
• SODIUM LACTATE: Extra nourishing and a gentle preservative
• SHEA BUTTER: Helps skin retain moisture, which in turn makes it soft, smooth, and kissable. Shea is loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents (important stuff to help fight aging)
• CASTOR OIL: Helps reduce water loss through the outer layer of the skin AND, importantly, Castor Oil makes your shaving soap whip up like thick gooey whipped cream!
• BUTTERMILK: Exfoliates the upper damaged layer of the skin to reveal healthy, even-toned skin.
• MANGO BUTTER: Contains lots of Vitamin A, an antioxidant that stimulates the skin's natural renewal process.
• COCOA BUTTER: Contains fats that form a protective barrier over the skin to hold in moisture.
• DISTILLED WATER: Has any and all of the impurities removed.
• LANOLIN: Hydrates your face for a very long time by penetrating deep into its layers, giving you a magnificent post-shave feel.
  
• STEARIC ACID: Just a fancy form of palm oil that is used, along with Coconut Oil, as the base for a truly luxurious shaving soap. All of our oils are sustainable. (Because a great shave is important, and so is protecting our environment.)
  
• Most importantly, our shave soap has NO nasty chemicals, nothing you can't pronounce. Just wonderful ingredients that whip up to give you the most magnificent shaving soap that you have ever used!
